About Maria Losavio
*  Maria has been married  for 23 years and is the
    proud mother of 3 school-aged children enrolled 
    in the Rapides Parish public schools;
*  Graduated from Northeast Louisiana University
   (now ULM) with a B.A. in Criminal Justice in
   1990.  She then attended Louisiana State
   University Law School where she was on Law
    Review and graduated with a Juris Doctor
   degree in 1996.  She has been praticing law
   in Rapides Parish since that time;
*  Volunteer attorney for "Children in need of care";
*  Currently serving on the boards of the Central 
    Louisiana Pro Bono Project, Inc. and the
    Rapides Children's Advocacy Center;
*  Member of ASH Trojan Club and Bolton Parent 
   Advisory Council, and on the ASH Trojan Club's
   Academic Committee at ASH; 
*  She served as the Parent-Teacher Club
    President at Cherokee Elementary and Brame
    Middle School for several years;
*  A Partner of Education with several local schools
   and has been the recipient of the Partner in
    Education Volunteer Service Award;
*  Member of the Rapides Parish Professional
    Women's Network;
*  She is a past President of the Alexandria Bar
    Association.  She is a fellow of the Louisiana
    Bar Foundation where she serves on the Central
    Louisiana Community Partner Panel;
*  She has coached basket ball for the Upward  
   Basketball League and was given the most
   Christ-like Coach award; and
*  Member of St. Frances Cabrini Church where
   she is a Eucharistic minister and a former 
   Catechism instructor.
